With over 35 years of experience, Stack Testing Associates (STA) provides RATA and CGA services to the Ontario crematorium industry.

 

Testing gives a confirmation of compliance with environmental permit (ECA) conditions for relative accuracy, bias and linearity.

 

Test reports are emailed to crematorium personnel and can be provided (by the client) to the ministry upon request.

 

 

RELATIVE ACCURACY TEST AUDITS (RATA) 

RATA/BIAS test audits are required periodically to show compliance with ECA requirements. 

Permit criteria for Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) typically include specifications for Relative Accuracy, System Bias,Response Time, etc.

Facility CEMS are compared against Reference Method CEMS.  Test methods are outlined in Environment Canada EC32102 (aka EPS 1/PG7) and EPA Reference Methods 3A (oxygen) & 10 (carbon monoxide).

 

 

 

 

 

CYLINDER GAS AUDITS (CGA)

CGAs are conducted each quarter to ensure the ongoing successful operation and linearity of the Oxygen and Carbon Monoxide CEMS.

Per EC32102, the facility monitoring system is challenged repeatedly with multiple EPA Protocol 1 gas concentrations to assess the ability of the system to measure concentrations in an accurate, responsive and linear manner.

Delay Costs

Should delays occur while travelling or onsite, additional charges may be incurred. Rates are as follows:

  • RATA: Labour $160/hour
  • CGA: Labour $125/hour
  • Accommodations (Hotel and Meals): $300/day
  • Mileage: $0.85 /km
  • Equipment: $100/day, $300/week
